The Church of Three Kings, perched majestically on Magos Hill in Cansaulim, is one of the most uniquely located churches in Goa. Famous for its association with local legends and ghost stories, this church offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and Arabian Sea. The church is dedicated to the Three Magi - Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar - who visited baby Jesus.
The church was built in the 16th century by Portuguese missionaries. According to local legend, three Portuguese priests were murdered here, leading to stories of hauntings. The church fell into disuse for some time but was later restored. The annual feast involves a unique tradition where three boys dressed as kings ride horses up the hill to the church.
The church features simple Portuguese colonial architecture with a whitewashed exterior and red-tiled roof. The interior is modest but beautiful, with a main altar dedicated to the Three Kings. The church's location on the hilltop makes it a prominent landmark visible from surrounding areas. The compound includes a courtyard and viewing areas.
